The Aosta Valley is a beautiful mountain region in north-western Italy, close to France and Switzerland. Surrounded by Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso, it is an excellent destination for skiing, hiking and relaxing in spectacular Alpine scenery.

What to see in the Aosta Valley
Visit the historic city of Aosta, where Roman monuments and charming streets are surrounded by mountains. Other highlights include Courmayeur near Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso National Park and the famous mountain resort of Breuil-Cervinia.
The valley is also known for impressive castles and fortresses. Fénis Castle, Issogne Castle, Saint-Pierre Castle and Fort Bard are among the most interesting historic attractions in the region.

Choose Aosta for sightseeing and convenient transport, Courmayeur for Mont Blanc and luxury mountain hotels, or Cervinia for skiing and views of the Matterhorn. Smaller villages offer peaceful apartments, guesthouses and traditional Alpine accommodation.
